profileI grew up traveling.  My parents were restless people, and, well I’ve developed into a lover of all things foreign (even after they’ve developed into something known).  I have always wanted to add an expat title to my life (but promised my children I’d wait until they were all out of high school).  December 2013, I submitted an application to teach in Abu Dhabi.  Before I knew it I was interviewing.  August 2014 I started my new job in Al Ain, UAE. I originally created this blog to chat with myself (and any of you going along for the ride) about my new Abu Dhabi obsession, and now that I’m living overseas it’s a way for me to share my journey with everyone back home (and anyone else reading).  I lived in the UAE for three years before embarking on my next adventure.  August 2017 I moved to Belgium.  I’m now THAT much closer to my relatives in Germany.  It’s a very good life.

    Hi Bettina, I absolutely love reading ur blog! As a possible August 2016 newbie I find ur blog so informative and such a lovely glimpse into life in Al Ain, inshallah if we get placed there il deffo look u up😊.

      I’m so glad you’re enjoying it. I’ll be here next year, so please do send me a message if you’re Al Ain bound. I spend quite a bit of time in Abu Dhabi too, so who knows we may just bump into each other somewhere in this journey. Congratulations on your new job/life! Just remember August through November will be tough, but it’s also exciting.
